The choice of product design
For the manufacture of clothing hangers, wood is usually used. But not every material is suitable for this. You should choose the most dried and strong wood. If the material can not be dried properly, then after a while it can lose its shape. Of all wood species for hanger, it is recommended to give preference to pine. This material is good because it is easy to process and at the same time has a low weight. If you decide to use an array of oak, then you should take into account that it is more difficult to process and more heavy. Parts of wood hangers are usually interconnected by glue. Some important requirements are similar to it. By the way, glue in the presence of inanimate wood can lose its adhesion, due to the release of moisture with the material.
A very important role is played by the choice of the shape of a hanger. It should be borne in mind that for a given interior item you need at least three supports, the length of which directly depends on the height of the product. Thus, it turns out that the higher the hanger, the more massive and more it should have supports. Often this product is intended not only for outerwear, but also for trouser suits, in order to store all the clothes in one place. For this purpose, the width of the hanger is usually more common. When you have decided on the hanger model, you should draw a scheme in which the exact dimensions of the future product will be indicated. DIY hobby for clothes
For the manufacture of the product, you need:

- drill,
- fighting,
- chisel.
Necessary materials:
- the bars of the desired size,
- boards,
- glue for wood,

- varnish.
When all this is, you can start work. It is advisable to determine in advance to the shade of the future product. In general, light wood can be painted in almost any tone. To do this, it is enough to apply a stain until the surface of the hanger does not have the desired shade. When coating with a stain or varnish, some substrate should be placed under the product. Otherwise, drops can accidentally get to the floor. Varnish should be used only after the stain has completely dried. In general, with varnish due to a strong smell, it is best to work in a room that is well ventilated or, in general, outdoors. After opening with the varnish, the product should be wiped with a rag moistened in a weak solution of vault.
Let us consider in more detail the procedure for performing work:
- First you need to prepare wood. In particular, the tree trunk is cleaned of the bark and rough knots. In no case should the bark leave, no matter how you want to give the product a more natural appearance. After all, if you leave it, then it will gradually crumble, thereby creating an additional occasion to clean the room. In addition, the bark is often the habitat of small insects.
- The bark can be removed using an ax or knife. After that, you should walk several times along the wood first with rough and then fine sandpaper. The surface in the end should become smooth, at least so that clothes do not cling to the knots.
- After that, the base of the product should be made. It is worth saying that it is advisable to make all the elements of the hanger (legs and tripod). You should not start with a cross. Otherwise, if you then attach the hanger itself to it, then the design can be shaken over time. It is necessary to adhere to the following rule - the lower edge of the tripod must be performed on the same plane from the sole of the legs.
- After that, you can go to the measurement of the diameter of the barrel. The dimensions will be needed to select a block of suitable width. If the bar is wider than you need, then you can cut it with a hacksaw along to the required size.
- Typically, the height of the hanger is about 1.7 m. For the product of such a height of the cross, it should have sorties of about 30-32 cm. Therefore, a pair of bars with a length of 65 cm will be needed. They will need to be cut in half so that four blanks are about 30-32 cm long.
- The most difficult thing is to attach the legs to the round trunk. If you just attach the bars, then the design will turn out to be unstable, and after the first fall, most likely, it will fall apart. It is more correct to put the tripod on the floor and put the legs of the legs to it. To combine them, you will need to make triangular wooden inserts. Then they are attached to the bars using self -tapping screws.
- To strengthen the product at the places of attachment of triangular elements to the legs and the trunk, you need to drill a hole with a diameter of several millimeters less than the diameter of the fasteners. It will need to be poured with glue in the future. Only after that can self -tapping screws can be screwed. Sometimes to give stability of the design of the hole, in addition to glue, they are also filled with pieces of rubber.
- To give the finished hanger the functionality, add hooks for outerwear to it. They can be made at some distance from the barrel. One important rule should be observed here. So that the structure does not fall, the center of gravity hanged on a hanger should not be outside the cross.
- Hooks can be used both homemade and decorative. In any case, they cannot be fixed directly on the tripod, because the floor hanger for clothes will quickly wear out and will become unusable. You can do it: take the bars and cut out the square with a side of them a little more than the diameter of the barrel. Initially, the hooks are attached to this square made of wood, and then to the product itself. Thus, they will be securely fixed, and at the same time they will not contact the “body” of the product, which, thanks to this device, will last longer. This is especially useful for a dressing room, which are used quite often.
You yourself can decide what hooks to use - decorative or homemade. However, if you make them independently from the wire, then they will have a not very attractive look. Therefore, it is better to give preference to decorative hooks purchased in the store. They are usually attached to a tree for a couple of self -tapping screws. If there are the necessary skills, then using a chisel, cut off the holes of the square shape, where then the hooks should be “hidden”. It will look better than simple planting on screws. When the hooks are in place, you need to connect the square wooden insert with the upper part of the product using several screws.
As for the hanger itself, it can be painted with paint or varnished. Choose a shade to your taste, but it is better to select a premises for the style of decoration, where the floor hanger for the hallway will stand. A layer of paint or varnish is applied at least twice.
The base for a wooden floor hanger should be quite heavy and stable. As it, you can adapt the bottom from the floor lamp, the skeleton of the floor fan or buy a stand for the New Year tree.

After that, vertical strips about 8 cm wide are nailed to them, and hooks are attached to the boards.
The dimensions of such a hanger can be different and mainly depend on the dimensions of the wall and the entire room. You can make it beautifully if desired: cover it with varnish, paint or paste it with a film self -adhesive. In any case, do not forget how to process the ends and edges so that there is no roughness left. If there is a desire, you can make a shelf in the form of a board about 25 cm wide, where the caps will be stored, in the upper part of the hanger, with the help of metal corners. If the hanger is made to the entire height of the wall, then a shelf for shoes is usually equipped in the lower part.
