What is roller shutters
Roller shutters are fashionable, modern and elegant. Thanks to the innovations and improvement of models, today such structures can be monolithic and impregnable, being defenders of personal property, and can act as decorative blinds or curtains. Thanks to the attractive appearance, roller shutters are able to decorate any interior.
The roller shutters have eight hacking classes - it all depends on the material from which the design is made:
- P1-R2. Classic and plumbing roller shutters are unlikely to protect from penetration, but they serve as an excellent protective tool from wind, noise and dust. These are mainly roller rolling profiles.
- P3-R5. If you need protection against penetration and vandalism, pay attention to extruded or steel profiles - gates and grates are made from this material.
- P6-R8. This is the most reliable protection, since such roller shutters are most often armored and bulletproof.
In addition, roller shutters are mechanical and electric. In turn, the mechanical roller shutters are divided into inertial and gearbox - depending on the drive, which ensures the rotation of the canvas.
Roller shutters are installed on the doors and windows, on the gate and windows, like partitions in the room instead of protective screens, on inclined roofs and winter gardens, and also as a protective tent for trailers of “pickup” vehicles.

Installation of roller shutters is a difficult matter, since the process itself requires increased qualifications from those who will do the work. It is on how the work is completed that the durability of the structure will depend and, importantly, its performance.
Installation of roller shutters: Instructions
If you decide to install the roller shutters with your own hands, carefully study the instructions for the installation of ordinary rollene systems. Knowing the basics of this process and a little practice, you can independently carry out work on installing roller shutters on the windows or on the door.
The most important thing is to properly prepare the opening before proceeding with the installation of profiles: it must be smooth, without cracks and influxes.
Types of installation
- Installation built -in. Installation of roller stories is carried out inside the opening - the fastening is carried out directly to the end of the opening. This method has the main advantage - the box where the profile is located is hidden inside the opening, without playing beyond it. But it is this advantage that is the disadvantage, since the light opening is reduced (just by the height and width of the box).
- Installation of the invoice. Installation is carried out on the opening, and fasteners are performed on the facade, thus, the box is above the opening. Advantage: there is no reduction in the light opening, when the roller shutters are open from the room. Disadvantages - the box can greatly perform relative to the facade.
- Installation when the box is inside. In this option, the roller shutters are attached to the end of the opening, but in such a way that the box is inside. Advantages: The appearance of the building does not deteriorate. As for the shortcomings, the roller shutters are far from the opening - just this place is occupied by the box.
- Installation when the box integrates. Installation is carried out directly to the opening, while the box is started into a niche created specifically for these purposes above the opening. Advantages: Due to the fact that the roller shutters are tightly adjacent, the facade has aesthetic appearance, and this type of installation significantly increases the protective functions of the profile, since the roller shutters are firmly mounted in the facade. As for the disadvantages - during installation it will be necessary to “spoil” the facade and the interior of the room.
- Installation built -in (internal). Installation is carried out exclusively indoors. Advantages: aesthetic appearance, increased degree of sewn up. Disadvantages: Unfortunately, the double -glazed window remains unprotected.
- Installation of the invoice (internal). Roller shutters must be mounted into the opening, but so that the light space is preserved. Advantages: increased reliability, attractive appearance. Disadvantages: unprotected double -glazed window.
How to choose fasteners
Depending on what type of installation will be used and what the opening is made of, various fasteners are used. Installation of roller shutters on the door or window is possible when using the following fasteners.
- Concrete, stone, brick is ordinary: plastic dowels that have injected or clogging elements, as well as anchors made of steel at least 30 mm.
- Hollow brick: anchors steel with a depth of at least 65 mm.
- Metal: Self -cutting screws.
- Wood: bedspins or screws.
Stages of work
The kit includes: one box, one roll canvas, two sliding tires and equipment.
As soon as you make sure the opening is prepared, you must proceed directly to the installation.
- Measure the opening where the roller shutters will be installed.
- Prepare the side rails - mark the places where the fasteners will be located.
- Drill in those places that you marked through holes.
- on one side of the rail, make one hole that will be used for a decorative peel-dumpling handle.
- Insert the fasteners that will fix the side rails into the box.
- Fix the lateral rails in the box.
- Apply the design to the wall (opening).
- Do not forget to check all the work using the level.
- Where holes are made for fasteners, it is necessary to fasten.
- Fix the box on the wall.
- In the event that the roller shutters have automatic components of the drive, it will be necessary to make a hole in the wall where the cable will take place. It is best to do this directly through the box - then the cable will not have “access” to the street.
- Connect the cable to the block that will be controlled. It is mainly attached to the wall or to the base station - it will catch the signal from the control panel.
- If the rolllet has manual control, then it is necessary to pull the cable to the block and install the handle by fixing the cable with it.
- The bar on which the profile will be wound must be wrapped in a packet preliminarily - this will protect the canvas from damage and scratches.
- Win the canvas of the rollet on the bar.
- At the end of the canvas, attach clamps.
- For roller shutters located on the outside, a crossbar is necessary. He will be a good block. Thanks to Rigel, the shutters will not be raised.
- Now it is necessary to install the bar - it will hold the rolllet tightly.
- If the roller shutters are located on the outside, you need to drill a drill at the head bolts so that they cannot be unscrewed. Then you need to install plugs on them.
