Installing lattices on windows with your own hands

We are already accustomed to the fact that the windows need to install lattices. They make our dwelling safe. In this list, there is not enough welding machine, and it is necessary, so if its acquisition is not included in your plans, you will have to lend somewhere. From fasteners will be required:

• self-tapping screws, but you can do and alone bolts, if only the wall is not wooden.

Methods of placement lattice

Bolt fastening

• Drains are welded to the frame;
• in the wall, drill holes under the diameter of the existing anchor bolts;

As you understand, there will be this fastener in the room that, of course, is a disadvantage of this method. Works add if your home is lined with vinyl siding:

• holes in the wall drilling very carefully;
• studs with thread fix with welding on the frame of the lattice;
• on the studs wear limiters in the form of sleeves, which will guard siding in the place of docking;
• fix the design using nuts.

So you can install metal grilles on the windows outside and indoors.

Lattice sliding

Special place are occupied sliding lattices. The canvas of these interesting lattices are collected as a harmonica. Their advantages are as follows:

• in the collected state, the lattice decreases by a quarter of its width;
• the window is easy to wash, collecting the grille;
• windows can be opened that in the sense of fire safety - a great advantage;
• aesthetic grille;
• produced in any color, so it is selected under the overall interior.

Peculiarities

• it looks like an ordinary grill, having a pair of elements located vertically. The width of the element (stripes) is 1.8 cm, and the thickness of 0.4 cm;
• between the verticals there is a gap - 1.8 cm;
• the grille is assembled due to the presence of mobile pantograph connectors between the rows of vertical elements;
• rows can be 2 or 5. It depends on the size of the window in height;
• if the grille is closed, then the verticals are 12 cm from each other. All deviations from this size are undesirable, as the lattice will function worse:
• pairs of vertical elements make the monorail movement - top and bottom. Bearings are available on the lower.
• this lattice is closed on the mounted lock, but it can have a built-in lock.

Existing models:

• opening in one direction - or right, or left;
• from the center to the right and left.

Mounting

Installing the lattices on the windows with your own hands is possible in this case with the seeming complexity of the design. Install them:

• in the opening;

• on the wall, that is, on the opening.
