Existing model bedside tables
Bedside tables can have a variety of design and design. Choosing a suitable model, you should rely on your financial capabilities, the experience of carpentry work and the interior of the room in which the product will be, in our case, is a bedroom. Consider the main types of Tumb:
-
Bedside table. This option is the most common and conservative. It will suit the lovers of a simple setting not with fashionable trends.
-
Open bedside table. There are no boxes in this model, and all things lie in sight. It is suitable for those who do not hide any objects from children and does not keep a lot of things in it at all.
-
Bedside table with a standing table. Such a model will be indispensable for people who care for sick and disabled people who are difficult to get out of bed to take food.
-
Hinged bedside table. This solution is suitable for bedrooms with limited area. The attached option, as well as outdoor, can be open, and may have a box or shelf. The cabinet is usually attached on the wall, while freeing the space on the floor.
-
A bedside table of an unusual design. Here already who is what is much. It all depends on fantasy, skill and work experience. If you want to supplement the situation in the bedroom by any unusual detail, you can think over the unconventional design.
Do not forget about one important parameter of the bedside table - sizes. They must correspond to the free space next to the bed. When it is installed around, there must be a little more space. If the width of the bedside table is such that the product takes up all the space and rests in the neighboring furniture items, it will only spoil the general view and cause inconvenience. But it will also be not very beautiful if bedside tables are narrow and too low. In other words, in everything you need to stick to the golden middle, and do not overturn a stick with any parameters.
All of the above options can be quite possible to make themselves. The cost in which the self-made bedding will cost, depends on its size, the number of boxes, the quality of the accessories and the material selected for the manufacture. But today we will consider this process on the example of the simplest and cheap, traditional model that a person who does not have extensive experience in the manufacture of furniture can easily be done.
Tools that need to work
Tools will require the most common, which most often have in the arsenal of every man, which from time to time is engaged in small repair and other household chores:
- drill with a nozzle "Screwdriver";
- perforator (if any);
- tree drills;
- different screwdrivers;
- mill 35 mm. in diameter;
- iron;
- roulette;
- pencil;
- "Straight angle" tool with a ruler;
- ribs, sandpaper.
By the way, the iron in this list was not mistaken at all, as you first thought. The fact is that the cutting parts you, no matter how cool, will have to be ordered in a joinery workshop, because To make it yourself, conditions are needed, a special tool and special knowledge. To minimize expenses, you can try to save on sticking edges. You can purchase a melamine edge with a thickness of 0.5 mm in the store, pick it up under the tint of the future bedside table and glue yourself. It has the adhesive side that needs to be attached to the surface of the part and stroke the hot iron. So that the bonded surfaces are well connected, take the rag and, without waiting for the cooling edge, press it with strength and move it.
Material from which we will produce our bedside end
In order to determine the choice of materials, it is necessary to study their types and properties, as well as estimate how much you can spend on them. Cheaper than all the cabinets from the chipboard. It is because of its low cost that this material was widespread. And the most expensive are the chambers of the natural array of wood. But because Today we make a simple, budget option, then and the materials will consider not expensive:
-
LDSP. From this material we will make the facades of our bedside table with your own hands. LDSP is a chipboard, covered as a decorative laminate coating. This material has a rich palette of colors and textures, it is easy to handle it. But not everyone knows that it is impossible to carve out the details of the furniture independently, because If you cut it with an ordinary girlfriend, then the decorative coating will be cropping, and the place in which the saw was turned out to be torn and ugly. Therefore, if it is LDSP for his own standing bedside table, then the cutting parts are better to order in the joinery workshop.
-
DVP. This is a fiberboard, which is made approximately as the chicken-friendly, only the material is used as a material, and not sawdust and chips. Fiberboard are thinner and flexible than chipboard. From this material we will produce the bottom of the box and the backside of the bedside table (parts that are not visible from the side) in order to save, because Fiberboard is cheaper than chipboard.
Tips and subtleties that need to be considered when working with LDSP:
-
lDSP sheets can have a different thickness - from 1 to 3.8 cm. Most often, the plate is 1.6 cm with a thickness;
-
the size of the plate can also be any, therefore, for the sake of money saving, you should draw the layout scheme to the plate on the plate and estimate, which size it should be to fit all the design elements and leaving the minimum of waste;
-
before purchasing the material, it is important to carefully examine it. The surface of the plate should not have damage, scratches, potholes. If they are, it is desirable that they are only on one side, otherwise the product will look badly;
-
it is also necessary to pay attention to the degree of dryness of the material. It should not be a drinking water, otherwise it will be breached, and it will simply be impossible to process it;
-
when transporting already carved parts of the future design, from the joinery workshop to home you need to ensure that when the machine jumps on the bumps, they did not beat each other and the body, and did not damage. It will be best to set down the bottom and body of the body with a paralyon or other material that can soften the blows, and the parts themselves are connected.
Important information about DVP:
-
the thickness of the furniture sheets Fiberboard is from 3 to 5 mm. It depends on the strength of the product. But most often this material is used to make internal parts not visible from the side. In terms of thickness, the three-millionth sheet is optimal for these purposes;
-
dimensions from DVP, like the chipboard, can be different, but, unlike the latter, it is not very important. It happens that there is no choice just no, and in the store there is only one format;
-
strict quality criteria do not exist. For our purposes, anyone will be suitable. But still, it is better to abandon the purchase, if it has a wavy surface. After all, this means that the sheet of wet and swallowed, and it will be very difficult to work with it.
Dimensions and number of parts for the manufacture of the scene of the simplest design itself
To order in the joinery workshop of cutting the bedside tables bedside, the drawing is necessary necessarily. It is necessary to sit at the table and delete with all its components, consider the size, design and the number of identical parts. I remind you that in our case it is the simplest and cheap model with a box without polishes and facades from LDSP. Dimensions and number of parts:
-
side details of the bedside tables of 77.2x50 cm - 2 pcs;
-
bottom and shelf measuring 36.8x50 cm - 2 pcs;
-
base and upper strips measuring 36.8x10 cm - 3 pcs;
-
side details of the drawer 48x11 cm - 2 pcs;
-
box walls 33.4x11 cm - 2 pcs;
-
facade of a box of 15x39.5 cm;
-
door the bedside tables 51,5x39.5 cm.
The stove from which the bedside will be manufactured, has 1.6 cm in thickness. The cover of the couch is better to take the kitchen. Its size is 52.5x40 cm, and the thickness is 2.8 cm.
The rear wall and bottom of the box can be made of cheaper Fiberboard for the following sizes:
-
rear wall of 67x39.5 cm;
-
the bottom of the box with a size of 47.5x36.5 cm.
The main fasteners will serve furniture eurhroups for which the openings must be drilled. In the planes we drill 8 mm in diameter, and in the ends - 5 mm in diameter. In the drawing, which was stated above, the number of holes should be labeled, and which of them are where they are drilled.
Accessories that will be required for assembly
To the choice of fasteners, it is necessary to take very responsibly, because they are more dependent, as long as the product lasts. In the store selling furniture accessories must be purchased:
-
4x30 Self-timers package for mounting the bedside table and front panel of the drawer. Attach them from the inside;
-
euro Shurus 5x70 in the amount of 22 pcs. They are fixed by the base and planks. Screw on each side by one euroscope;
-
packaging of 4x16 screws with a hidden cap to secure loops and fiberboard. When screwing into the bottom of the box should shut them, to avoid scratches on the shelf;
-
loops for furniture in the amount of 2 pieces. It is necessary that they match the diameter of the existing cutter;
-
handles for the door and drawer in the amount of 2 pieces;
-
if there is a desire, you can purchase adjustable feet for furniture so that if it is necessary to be able to install the Tumba on the uneven floor. But this is optional.
Assembling details of the bedside table
The smallest sheet of chipboard - 183x244 cm. The 2.5 bedside tables of this size and design will be released from it, so before being taken for work, it makes sense to cooperate with someone from acquaintances or relatives so as not to store the remaining material, but at the same time divided expenses.
Of all the above, it is already quite clear how you can make an assembly of the details of the stands, it remains only to mention the two most important technical details:
-
Collecting a bedside table must be controlled by the correctness of the angles. All of them must be straight, otherwise, the design turns, and the facades will be bad to open.
-
The distance from the edge of the door to the middle of the hinge holes is 2.2 cm. This is relevant for our case, when we have a 3.5 cm mill and the corresponding loops. From above and from below, the distance from the edges is usually from 6 to 8 cm. If there are no features of the design, then how much it is, it is not so important. Next, you just need to apply the door with fixed loops at the required height to the body and fasten with the help of the fastener.
When the assembly job is over, you can install the product in place and start using it.
In case you made facades from a material that has no decorative coating, it is better to paint it. To do this, you must first degrease the surface, and then rebound it. This operation is made to achieve maximum paint hitch with a bedside surface.
After the primer layer is completely dry, you can start painting. It is best to use acrylic paint on a water basis. It will quickly dry and does not exude such a smell as, for example, a solvent-based paint. The dye is better to apply in two layers, and before applying the second should be carefully dried first.
A large brush is suitable for the main work, and for the procession of hard-to-reach places is small. After the product is completely dry, you can fix the result with a layer of furniture varnish.
