When only central lighting is placed in the kitchen, then standing at the table, you inevitably close the access of light to the working surface. Of course, when it is in the center of the kitchen, it may not be so noticeable. However, sometimes even the location of the table does not help. Anyway, even if an additional backlit is needed with a desktop lamp, then how much you need a similar backlight for the kitchen. That's just in the kitchen, other rules, and the table lamp will not solve the problem.

What way to make the backlight?
Options for solving the lighting task in the kitchen are several. Let's call some:
- lED tape (in or without a profile);
- lamps of oblong shape;
- point lamps, single or sets, mortise and overhead;
- sets of lamps for lighting kitchen windows and glass shelves.
Some types of furniture lamps are enough just to scream to the bottom of the kitchen cabinet and connect to the power outlet.
Curling point lamps are designed as seen from the name, to insert into specially cracked holes in the furniture. Such lamps provide for the design of furniture in advance.
Installation of overhead point luminaires is not as complicated. To connect overhead luminaires, it is necessary to carry out additional electrical wiring. Connecting lamps is carried out through a transformer.
Thus, it is possible to make the backlight of the kitchen with your own hands. Have the skills of working with electricity not for all options. If you want to independently make the backlight using the LED tape, you need to have an electrician installer skills. Tools that may come in handy: screwdriver, roulette, hammer, screwdriver, soldering iron.
Preparation for work
Before moving towards the practical side of the case, it is advisable to draw a kitchen plan, top view (sometimes the front plan is also needed). In the plan, mark the available lighting, and the one you plan to do. It is necessary to take into account both practical side and design moments. Questions may be the following nature:
- whether to prevent the uniform distribution of light Religious accessories and other attached kitchen parts;
- where the socket will be located, power supply, switches or remote control;
- would you irritate you a view of the LED tape, if it is not hidden in a special profile;
- what color lighting you prefer;
- do not forget that the color is able to strongly affect human emotions;
- if you use different colors of the backlight, whether they will be combined with each other and with the overall kitchen design.
Most likely, the overall lighting of the kitchen has already been installed: chandelier or point lamps. What places usually need additional lighting: this is a working part of the countertop, washing, stove. It is possible that the furnace is already lit backlit mounted in the exhaust. Some believe that it is convenient to make additional lighting also inside the kitchen cabinets.
After you have determined with the type of lighting and the location of its location, you can start working. Consider how practically there are some illumination options.
LED backlight kitchen with their own hands
The advantage of LEDs is that they save electricity. Among other things, the LEDs have a long service life (with proper use), resistant to mechanical exposure and humidity.
- Purchase LED tape. You can buy a ribbon of any color. Although different colors greatly decorate the kitchen, however, it is not always practical. Many users agreed that the best is the neutral white color. LED ribbon is sold or a solid strip or segments. If you bought a solid tape, then be careful: according to the rules of the power grid, it is impossible to consistently connect the LEDs more than 15 m long. Make sure the tape purchased has no chances and visible damage.
- Buy power supply. It is also convenient to use a remote control unit with a controller. The power supply must be purchased to the power supply. The voltage of the power supply and tape must match. A higher voltage indicator on the power supply compared to the tension voltage will lead to the failure of the latter. RGB tape first connects to the controller, and then the controller is connected to the power supply.
- Power supply plug solder to the wire controller. All places to protect the tape.
- In the wires of the adapter, determine where plus, and where is minus. To do this, connect the adapter to the power supply and using the indicator to check.
- Spare adapter wiring to LED ribbon, observing the pole. After soldering, turn the insulating ribbon space of the soldering of each wire separately, and then together two wires. Check the performance by connecting the structure to the power supply.
- Degrease the surface to which the tape will be attached. If you degrease the detergent, remove it with water and give the surface to dry. It is desirable to glue the tape at the bottom of the mounted cabinets not near the door (ahead), and near the rear wall of the cabinets. At the same time, it is desirable to retreat from the wall (from the joint of the wall and the cabinet) 2-3 cm. Otherwise, if you glue the ribbon to the wall with a wall, the lights on the wall will have an undiluted look.
- Glue the ribbon to the bottom of the mounted cabinet. For this, bilateral scotch is used if the purchased LED tape is not self-adhesive. If the tape is self-adhesive, then everything you need is to remove the protective strip from the adhesive side. Then exactly attach ribbon to the surface. After the entire tape is pasted, press a little.
- A hole in the bottom of the cabinet is drilled for the adapter wire. The adapter wire is displayed in the hole. In the closet, it is conveniently placed in the power supply and controller if the power supply was carried out in advance in the cabinet.
- Shipping wires adapter and controller.
LED ribbon in profile
Experienced electricians are not recommended to glue the ribbon directly on the furniture or on the walls. It is preferable to use a special aluminum profile with a protective screen. The tape is glued into the profile groove and closes with a matte or transparent screen.
The advantages of using the profile are that it will remove the heated heat from the heating of the LEDs, and the screen dispels the light. In addition, in the grooves of some profiles you can hide the wires. Instructions for highlighting the working area in the kitchen.
- Measure the place of fastening the profile.
- Cut the profile of the required length using the metal hacksaw.
- Make a 3 mm diameter profile at the bottom of the profile: along the edges of the profile, and if the profile is long, then in the middle.
- Secure the profile base to the bottom of the suspension kitchen cabinet with the help of furniture screws 3 * 16 mm. You can use a screwdriver, but if it is not, it will help a screwdriver and your efforts.
- Measure the desired length of the LED tape.
- You can cut off the ribbon only in a specially provided place, which is marked with the "Scissors" icon.
- Remove the film on the back of the tape and glipe it inside the profile.
- Install the protective screen (light diffuser). From the side of the profile to close by plastic plugs.
- Profile Insert the base on the bottom of the suspended cabinet.
A variant is possible when the profile is without reason. In this case, consolidate it on the bottom of the cabinet using double-sided tape.
LED and luminescent lamps
Usually, such lamps are sold in furniture salons or stores as furniture fittings. You can choose lamps with suitable length and power parameters.
Complete with the LED lamp usually already has a transformer connected to a mini-plug lamp.
All that is necessary for the installation of such lamps: screwdriver and furniture screws. Instructions for purchased luminaires will tell you how they are mounted: to the side walls or to the bottom of the cabinets. It usually depends on the purpose of the lamp - for the outer or internal lighting of the cabinet. Cooking photos with illuminated various lamps gives an idea of \u200b\u200bthe possible options for illumination of the working area.
