Preparation of the loggia

It is not enough just to take and start the skin of the panels, first you need to start preparing a small room. The ideal option is to install plastic windows, put the insulation and carefully seal all seams. Otherwise, you can not count on the maintenance of heat, and the plastic panels will last not 15 years, but much less.

Since it is not always possible to cope with the glazing of the loggia yourself, it is better to entrust this part of the work to specialists. You will only need the choice of the manufacturer and the number of double-glazed windows. You can buy inexpensive plastic windows, 1-2 windows make it open so that it is possible to ventilate the room, and the rest will be deaf. This part of the work should be treated with understanding and therefore be patient. There should be no air exchange with the street, so thoroughly fill in the solution, foam or sealant even the smallest hole and all the cracks.

If you live on the top floor, as well as if the neighboring balcony located the floor above has remained open, then it is necessary to take care of insulation of the ceiling. To do this, you can use foam sheets, but first you need to make a frame made of metal or wooden rails, and then proceed to insulation of the ceiling. 4. If you work only with screws, then you need to fix them at a minimum distance from each other.
5. In no case should you use wooden rails for the construction of the ceiling frame. No matter how well they are impregnated, and all holes are carefully sealed, the slightest moisture can violate the entire structure. Then your work will be spoiled, the PVC panel can lead or it will swell and pull the entire finish.
6. Between strips of a metal profile to the ceiling using construction glue (colorless silicone sealant), foam sheets are glued.
7. The last, final part of the work is the most time-consuming-it is necessary to drill holes for the ceiling profile in each fence, and then cut the thread (M3-M4).
8. Then you need to make a crate, to which it will be possible to attach PVC panels.
9. Between the profiles, just lay the next layer of foam.

10. If you were advised to attach the ceiling profile to the metal with dowels, it is better not to listen to such recommendations. From practice, it is known that in a few years (3-4 years), fastening will become weakening and the whole structure will become mobile. So it is better to immediately “put” the profile on CD screws.

Sut the loggia from the inside

With the interior decoration of the loggia, you first need to make the crate of the remaining walls. In our case, these are 3 walls for the loggia. The ceiling and the wall where the double -glazed windows are located are already prepared.

The remaining walls must be insulated with a similar way, and the wall that communicates with the living space remains the same. It can not be insulated.

We calculate the amount of material

Now that the crate is ready, you can begin to perform the calculations of the material. First, we will find out how much you need to purchase PVC panels for installation. We will need all 3 types of panels: corner, straight and double -sided (ordinary angle), also internal trihedral (triple angle). If the plans to sheathe window and door openings are planning, then you need to purchase triple external corners. If it seems to you a difficult task, then simply coordinate these openings with a regular profile.

Take note: often experts recommend using several types of profiles: starting, finish (for inserting the last strip) and guide. This is the scheme of work if it is planned to clad the outer surfaces. And since we solved all the problems from the outside and insulated the loggia, we will work according to a lightweight system.

How to distinguish PVC panels:

1. Straight (box in the form of the letter "P"). It is attached to the crate on a stick or a transverse way. A strip is attached to the straight crate through the wide side of the sidewall.
2. Simple or standard angle. These are 2 profiles interconnected at an angle of 90 ^oS. It needs to be mounted on the outer or inner angle. Sometimes you can replace it with a straight box, if you lay the panel of the wire.
3. A triple corner is necessary for the installation of external, internal and trihedral corners (angle of inclination 90 ^oWITH). If you get used to it, then you can do without these corners by replacing them with ordinary boxes, folded under a certain degree.

Installation of the box and fastening of PVC panels

We start with the mounting of the guides in the corners. Using a drill with a nozzle, insert flat washers (size 4-6 x 20-24 mm). Thus we make a crate. Make sure that the fasteners sit tight, and the box itself did not begin to crack. Otherwise, a detachment of the crate can occur along the entire length.

Now we can move on to the most interesting part of the work - laying PVC panels. Some are so fond of this process that they are jokingly called the installation of panels “adult designer”.

What do we need to do:

1. First we cut the panel of the size we need.
2. Then we insert it into the lower hole at the bottom of the box (grooves), hold our board with a free hand.
3. Next, we carefully bend it so that it is possible to insert the upper part of the panel into the hole in the upper part of the box.
4. A light “slap”, a characteristic sound, a shift and a board stands in its place.
5. If the boards are asymmetric, then they need to be assigned as tightly as possible and attached with a flat puck, and then insert a new panel.
6. We will find out how to work with the openings a little later. And now it is important to put aside the last 2 boards. The penultimate is not yet inserted, but the final is cut along (along the width of the panel) and take the height of the spont. Next, we take a silicone sealant and release a few drops in the box to the place where the finish strip will be attached. Now it remains to insert the last board.
7. In the free hole we set the previous panel, but in order for it to “sit down” well, it is necessary to move the finish panel a little.
8. We install everything in its place and do not touch the place where the panel “sits” on the silicone. A few days later, the cladding of PVC panels will be monolithic, and the fact that emptiness remained in the box is not so scary.

It remains to arrange the openings in exactly the same way as the skin of the walls with panels. The last stroke - we provide normal air exchange. To do this, select the appropriate place (in the right or left lower corner) and drill 15 holes (diameter 20 mm), install a decorative grill. This will be enough for the air to leave the balcony, and the influx can be provided if you open the window for ventilation.
