- Emali chips on the side surfaces of a cast -iron bath are easily eliminated with cold welding. It is only required to clean and degrease the damaged surface and fly it as plasticine, but in accordance with the instructions. After hardening cold welding, it lends itself to machining. Grinding, milling or drilling. After grinding, the surface is enamel or decorated with liquid acrylic.
- For individual small cracks or scratches, there are special decorating pencils and polishes of different colors. The scratch is degreased with technical alcohol, if necessary, it is cleaned with sandpaper and decorated according to the instructions for the use of the decorating agent.

Restoration of a cast -iron bathtub by applying enamel
The enamel for the restoration of a cast -iron bath is a two -component drug consisting of epoxy resin and hardener fluid. It can be of different consistency, so decide on the method of surface covering - a brush or a spray.
- Mixing, make according to the instructions on the packaging. It is better to mix a portion for the primary coating to start so that the rest for the second layer of enameling does not thicken until the bathtub will dry.

Cast iron bathtub repairs with liquid acrylic
This method appeared relatively recently, thanks to the invention of liquid cold acrylic or stakryla. It is also mixed with a hardener and forms a polymer film on the surface.
- The old cast -iron bath is prepared by the above method. Damaged areas are cleaned, the entire surface of the grinding machine is processed and degreased. Polymezed acrylic creates on the surface of the bath a protective film with a thickness of 4 to 6 mm.
- The process of acrylic coating is somewhat lighter than enamel coating. Pouring, begins from the upper point and by turning and swinging the bathtub distribute it on the surface. Then the fill is made on the opposite side, and the procedure continues until a complete and uniform surface coating with glass. The excess polymer is removed through the drain hole. The service life of such a bath is at least 20 years.
Repair of cast iron bath using a plastic liner
Now they have begun to produce finished plastic bathtub tabs. The most important thing is that such a tab is suitable for size and corresponds to the design of a cast -iron bath.
- The inner surface of the bath is cleaned and degreased in the usual way. Damaged places are treated with a moisture resistant sealant. The acrylic liner is adjusted to the drain and overflowing holes and centered. A two -component mounting foam is applied to the surface of a cast -iron bath.
