Moreover, there are various options for upholstery of the metal door - this allows you to decorate the entrance to the house in accordance with the taste of its owner.

Tools

When working on the upholstery of metal doors, the following tools and materials will be needed:

• glue - epoxy, "moment of the station wagon";

• hammer;

• sensor tools: roulette, pencil or marker.

For working with laminate, MDF panels and wood, in addition to these tools, you will need:

• electrician;
• drill;
• self -tapping screws.

Preparation for work

1. First of all, the door is removed from the loops. Then it is laid horizontally on the supports, as which you can use four stools.
2. Fastenies and accessories are dismantled: handles, locks, loops, eye.
3. If you need to replace the door upholstery, then the old coating is removed. The surface is cleaned of contaminants.
4. The door leaf is measured.

More recently, metal doors were simply covered with paint or varnish. But this method is no longer satisfied with the exacting consumers. The upholstery of metal doors is considered a more practical and aesthetic option for its design.

Vinilisk

Material

The upholstery of the doors by dermantine is the most familiar and familiar way of their decoration, known since the 90s. Modern types of vinylism are significantly different from the material of that time. It is even very similar to genuine skin and has similar properties. At the same time, the cost of the material is much lower. The upholstery of the door of the vinylskoye is the most economical option for their design.

The advantages of Viniliska:

• the most affordable price compared to the upholstery of the doors by other materials;
• resistance to moisture, fading and temperature changes;
• high elasticity;
• unpretentiousness in care - Viniliska is washed by any detergent;
• good level of wear resistance;
• excellent sound and thermal insulation properties;
• a large selection of textures and colors.

Very serious disadvantages of the material include its “vulnerability” - the presence of pets in the house increases the risk of damage to the door upholstery. When clarifying the wings of the vinylska, the lining should be purchased. It can be foam rubber, 10-20 mm thick, or isonon-more high-quality and modern material.

1. Glue is applied over the entire surface of the door. The insulation (foam or isonon) is applied to the canvas and smoothed throughout the area.
2. Excess material is cut to the size of the door.
3. Dermatin is cut out according to prepared sizes. In this case, its width should be more than 12 cm.
4. If the outer side of the door is offended, then the glue is applied to the upper ledge of the sash from the reverse side, and the vinylska is pressed to this place. The use of Bruska-rule will help to fix the finishing material stronger.
5. When decorating the inside of the canvas, pasting begins with the upper end of the door.
6. The upholstery material with a slight tension is smoothed out from top to bottom and checked for displacement.
7. In the same way, the entire perimeter of the door is glued - first from the side of the loops, then the side of the sash with the handles and the lock. On the lower end, work is carried out last.
8. When the doors upholstery from two sides, the material in the gluing places should not overlap - it will be poorly held.
9. Excess vinylska are cut off.
10. Holes for fittings are cut. It is better if their size is slightly smaller than the necessary.
11. The fasteners and accessories are installed.

Laminate

Properties of the material

Initially, the laminate was developed to cover the floor, but its quality allowed the use of the material for the upholstery of the doors. The panel canvas has a thickness of 0.7-0.8 cm and consists of four layers:

• lower - moisture -resistant paper, impregnated with paraffin or synthetic resins;
• the main - wood -fiber plate;
• upper - with resins impregnated with various drawings;
• protective - brilliant polymer film, with antistatic properties.

Using the laminate as lining of the entrance doors is an excellent solution, since it has many positive qualities:

• Affordable price-despite the fact that the elite laminate is significantly different from the cost of the economy class, such doors upholstery will cost cheaper than using the wood or MDF massif. However, she will have a noble, respectable look.

• Resistance to fading.
• Decorative properties - outwardly, the door sheathed with a laminate does not differ at all from the more expensive products trimmed with natural wood. It can have a different pattern, but most often the imitation of valuable wood species is used.
• Lightness in care - laminate is very simply cleaned with detergents.
• High level of sound and thermal insulation.
• Resistance to damage and pollution.

In addition to advantages, the decoration of the doors with a laminate has its drawbacks:

• The inability to use the material when decorating doors overlooking the street. The laminate does not tolerate high humidity and temperature changes - it swells and loses its appearance. Therefore, the material is used only for upholstery of the entrance doors in apartments.
• Caution of the use of chemicals when leaving - their high concentration will damage the door surface. It is permissible to use only weak detergents.

Laminate door cladding

• Along the perimeter of the door, wooden rails suitable for the main material of the color are attached to the liquid nails.

• A shield is assembled from laminated panels, which is cut using a jigsaw according to the parameters of the canvas between the rails.

• Glue is applied to the door.

• The shield is laid on the canvas and pressed by the load.
• After the glue dries on the door, accessories are installed.

Plates MDF

Quality of the material

MDF (wood -fiber plate) is made of pressed wood crumbs. The ligament is natural material - lignin. MDF lining have various types of coating:

• laminated film - is in greatest demand, as it has high operational properties;

• anti -vandal plastic is the most wear -resistant coating option;

• natural veneer is less durable, in comparison with previous materials, as it is afraid of moisture, but looks very beautiful and is also popular;

• powder paint or enamel has its advantages - gives the panel shine and stability from chemical and physical exposure.

Advantages of MDF panels:

• environmental friendliness;
• strength;
• high level of heat and sound insulation;
• large selection of color and texture;
• simplicity of care.

Like all materials, MDF panels have certain flaws:

• the cost of products is higher than previous options-they are cheaper than elite structures from an array of wood, but more expensive than economy-class upholstery;
• the material reacts poorly to moisture effects - like natural wood;
• it is easily damaged by the use of abrasive products, therefore, when leaving, only detergents are used.

Installation of MDF panels

1. The door leaf is cleaned and degreased, then painted. This is done to improve the contact of its surface and MDF panels.
2. Along the perimeter of the door, through holes for screws are made, the step of which is 10-15 cm.
3. Glue is applied to the door.
4. The MDF panel is laid on the sash and is fixed using self-tapping screws. At the same time, the hats of the screws attaching the inner plate are under the external cladding. In order to prevent them from sticking out in the outer panel, self -tapping screws are shed in a hid.
5. Holes for fittings are drilled, and installation is carried out.

Wooden array

A wooden array is an elite type of casing of a metal door. In its quality, various types of wood processed with special means are used.

This option of upholstery has undoubted virtues:

• unique, elite design;
• elegance;
• environmental friendliness;
• large variation of the color scheme;
• good heat and sound insulation;
• high strength.

Disadvantages of wooden doors sheathing:

• high cost;
• large weight;
• poor moisture resistance.

The installation of a wood array on a metal door is similar to the cladding of products of MDF panels.
