Preparation of the vine for weaving

Since rattan is a southern plant that rarely can be found in our area, and it is not very profitable to purchase it in the store, the masters mainly use the willow branches for the manufacture of furniture from the vine with their own hands. It is necessary to harvest raw materials from the end of autumn to the end of winter due to the fact that during this period there is no sapotage in the trees, so it becomes possible to prepare the maximum quality material. A special secectator for wood should be cut into flat, undermined and long rods.

If in the future your wicker furniture is on the street, it is better not to clean the cut branches from the peel. If your decor element is designed exclusively to decorate the room inside, then it is better to clean the vine. To do this, boil freshly cut branches in water for 2 hours. At the same time, try to use large and deep dishes so as not to bend the branches several times. After 2 hours, the peel from the branches will be easy to separate.

Do -it -yourself rattan sofa

You will need to work on creating a company of a company: you will need:

• knife;

4. Then prepare the front legs. There will be 3 of them, with the height that you yourself will determine. But the standard height is 40 cm.
5. Attach sticks to the prepared frame in the corners: two - along the edges, one in the center.
6. If the height of the back of your sofa is 25 cm, then along with the height of the floor to the seat, the rear sticks should be 65 cm. Measure and cut it with a jigsaw just such a length.
7. Attach 3 hind legs to the rectangular frame by self -tapping screws according to the same principle as the front legs are fastened.
8. If desired, you can connect the rear frame sticks with a common arc. So, the back of your sofa will have a rounded shape. The length of the stick is about 100 cm, it must be screwed with self -tapping screws to the tops of the two rear sticks so that the arc forms.
9. For greater strength, fasten the legs of the sofa with additional sticks.
10. The main frame is ready, now the rattan branches should be shut up to get flexible ribbons.
11. The chips can be made with a knife. Gently cut the long branches of the vine from top to bottom.
12. When everything is ready, it remains to make a frame. In this case, you can use the most different technique, but the easiest way to apply the method of simple weaving through one rack with two or three rods from the external and inside.
13. Bend one rack in front, the next rack - behind, until the circumference is closed. At the same time, in order for the circle to close, there must be an odd number.
14. When you start weaving the next row, do not forget to go to the first rack from the opposite side, fixing each rack in the right position.
15. In the case when the rod ended at its base, put the new one for the same rack and tuck it inside.
16. After the bracket weaving, the sofa must be covered with stain and then varnish. And when the structure dries, it can be decorated with a foam seisure, sheathed with a beautiful fabric.

DIY coffee table

In order to make a small braided coffee table, stock up on a set of necessary tools:

• plywood sheet;
• 4 boards for the frame and the same number of bars for the legs;
• plates for upholstery plywood;
• 4 rod for fastening the legs of the table;

Production technology:

1. From a thick plywood sheet, cut a rectangle of the desired size with a jigsaw.
2. Using ribbons and rods from willow, weave a canvas suitable in size to plywood countertops.
3. Carefully and inconspicuously screw the canvas to the countertop with small cloves and put it aside.
4. Now take care of the manufacture of the subfloor. From 4 boards, make a table frame, beat 4 bar to it - the legs of the structure.

The durability of wicker furniture made of natural materials is directly affected by the correctness of care. There are three basic rules that must be observed when caring for furniture from the vine:
