It is not for nothing that it is believed that only natural materials should be used in the bathhouse, they can bring special energy to the process of cleansing the body and internal reassurance. Of course, some prefer to purchase ready -made furniture, but the work done by yourself finds a greater response in the shower.

What material for furniture should be used?
Furniture for the bath should be made only from natural materials. Sometimes in the saunas preference is given to sofas made of artificial leather or tissue upholstery, but they poorly tolerate high humidity, and they very much lose the wood in terms of the aesthetic component. It should be remembered that not every wood will be equally good for this case.
It is believed that furniture made of linden for a bath is best suited, since linden has a number of undeniable advantages:
- linden heats up quite poorly, but at the same time, in the process of exposure to temperature, the wood begins to exude a slight pleasant aroma,
- it is easy enough to process, has no defects in the outer crust and knots, which facilitates the process of finishing,
- linden dries quickly and is not afraid of moisture,
- the low price of the material will make furniture from linden available for any budget.
In addition to linden, it is often recommended to use birch and oak wood. Like linden, they do not secrete resins in the process of heating and are easily cleaned. In addition, the use of conifers, the same pine tree will allow competitors in terms of benefit: pairs of needles have a beneficial effect on the lungs. Fans of exotic and owners of good budgets should pay attention to the African tree of the Abashi family. It is not afraid of heating and moisture, a burn cannot be obtained from it. However, the use of exotic in unshakable traditions is very controversial, so when choosing wood for furniture, it is more advisable to select those species of wood that are widespread and available in free sale. Furniture for a bath of wood is not only a trend in fashion, this is primarily a desire to receive comfort and benefits in the process of washing, because most of the woody species saturate the air with useful enzymes that are so necessary for the body.
What furniture is needed for a bath?
After the material for the manufacture of furniture was chosen, you should decide which furniture is necessary for the internal environment of the bath:
- First of all, it is difficult to imagine bath procedures without the presence of benches and shelves in a steam room.
- In addition, you will also need clothing hangers.
- It is extremely desirable to have a font, a large barrel that will replace the pool for cooling.
It will be quite difficult to make furniture for a sauna and a bath with your own hands if you do not have appropriate skills, but the final result is worth it. What tool should be used in the assembly process?
The required tool
For work, first of all, you will need:
- a bell with a disc saw,
- hacksaw or drank wood,
- plane,
- for fasteners and joints of elements, self -tapping screws and nails are required.
It is important to remember that the metal parts are very heated during the procedures, for this reason, even a simple self -tapping screw should be reliably hidden flush (drowned in wood) in order to exclude the possibility of obtaining a burn. Roulette and building level will help to observe the necessary corners when assembling structures. As can be seen from the above, a special tool is not required - all of the indicated is sold in the nearest building materials store.
Assembly of furniture for the bath: Stages
When assembling furniture, it is necessary to start with the most time -consuming products: with benches or shelves.
Usually shops, if the steam room is a large room, are located in several levels. In fact, often in this case they are called shelves, the difference in the mounting method: the shelves are fixed to the wall, the shops - to each other. If the bathhouse has small sizes, one wide shop, which should have a fence from the stove.
The general principle of assembly for both shops and shelves is quite simple: wood boards are laid with a gap of 1 cm to ensure unhindered flow of water. Products should have a length of one of the walls, a width of at least 60 centimeters. 90 is considered optimal, since a person of any complexion can comfortably accommodate on such a shop. If the design consists of several tiers, then the distance between them should be 50 cm. The shelves are preferably built in order to quickly remove and wash them if necessary. For this, the frame is composed of timber and transverse slats, on which the base will be attached after.
The shops are collected in the same way, the difference is only in the thickness of the sidelines for the seat. The collected furniture for the steam room should not be varnished, only with a stain, if necessary, to give her the desired color and additional protection against high temperature exposure.
Shelves for things and hangers for clothes are collected quite easily. A drilled board 50 cm long is attached to the wall, on which hooks (for shelf) or other planks are mounted.
This set of furniture is the necessary minimum, but if the size of the bathhouse is allowed and there is a desire, then you should think about installing font. In fact, it is a large tub, a cylindrical container made of wooden boards with a diameter of 150 cm. Those who watched the film “Features of the National Hunting in the Winter period” will immediately recall the episode about Furaka. This Japanese analogue is a font and is no different in the internal structure. The font has almost the same height as the diameter, but it does not have to have an absolutely round shape. At the moment, a lot of manufacturers are offered ready -made solutions for a bathhouse, the price of which starts from $ 450. It is pleasant enough to plunge into it after visiting the steam room. Moreover, often special tinctures or essences are added to the cool water to the font that can benefitly affect health and well -being.
Ways to finish old furniture
The methods were considered above how to make new furniture. But sometimes it is enough to bring the old one to mind. The following decoration options are distinguished:
- village style (aka country),
- blocation of furniture,
- giving a vintage style furniture (under the old days).
Furniture for the bath, the photo of which are presented later, will clearly demonstrate the sophistication of this type of landscaping.
Even a simple and unpretentious look of wooden furniture is easy to turn into a whole artistic canvas, on which it is possible to realize any ideas. Country style is good because to give furniture of ennobled species does not require special efforts. So, it is necessary:
- packed wood with a metal grid or brush. Movements should be carried along the fibers so as not to leave noticeable transverse stripes on the material,
- the resulting sawdust is removed with a rag or a soft brush,
- to emphasize the relief of wood, after emphasis, the material should be covered with a layer of translucent azure, which is applied using a conventional brush or roller,
- next, the wood is covered with varnish and the surface is ready.
It should be remembered that restored furniture with varnish coating is used only in the dressing room, or on the veranda. There should not be any varnish coatings in the steam room itself.
For a summer bath, the most optimal will be the choice of such a restoration method as giving furniture of a new species by whitening. In fact, this method is an alternation of the use of a metal brush and glaze coating. The surface is stuck with a brush, sawdust is removed, then the furniture is covered with a layer of white glaze. After the layer dries, they again pass through the wood with a metal brush. Then repeat the coating of icing.
Thanks to the use of the specified method, the furniture easily and quickly acquires a bleached road, and the idea itself is quite simple and does not take much time for implementation.
The vintage style at the moment is popular not only in clothes, but primarily in furniture. Since this method is the most costly both in time and for strength - it should be approached by weighing all the pros and cons of such execution. If a positive decision was made, then actions should be performed according to the specified method:
- at first, things should be given a “spoiled” look. No matter how strange this idea would seem, but this is the essence of vintage - to show the subject that has already lived for a long time, even if this is not. The surface of the restored model with a hammer and knife should be treated to create deep cuts and damaged areas. An ordinary nail or self -tapping screw is suitable for the same purpose. With the help of a hammer, blows are made on the surface, especially in places of rounding, to give furniture a sufficiently shabby look,
- then the tree is covered with a stain, after which the layer should dry out,
- with the help of finely and coarse-grained sandpaper, the surface is fucked to create a raid of time,
- after that, the wood is cleaned of sawdust and dust, and then processed using azure,
- following this, after the azure completely dried, with the help of a hard brush, the integrity of the upper layer is violated to create the correct pattern of aged wood,
- the finish stage of work will be the use of the last layer of glaze mixed with the White Spirit solvent in proportions two to one.
After these procedures, the furniture will take the view under the old days. It should be noted that the creation of such an effect without the availability of appropriate experience is unlikely to be obtained the first time. Nevertheless, it is worth trying, because the final result is quite capable of surpassing all expectations.
