Three layers of which the carpet consists of:

- warp;

Type of pile
By the type of pile, the carpet varies into three types:
- Loop coating - consists of loops, has a fairly stiff surface, resistant to wear. It is made of artificial materials. There is a multi -level carpet in which loops are of different heights. Thus, a voluminous pattern is created.
- Pile coating - consists of cut loops. It is produced from both artificial and natural materials. The pile has a soft, pleasant surface to the touch. It can be either very small - 2 mm, and large - from 5 mm and higher.
- Bright carpet is a dense, stiff rubber -based coating resembling felt.
For a children's room, a loop or pile carpet on a latex basis is suitable. The first material is easier to clean and quite durable, the second - it absorbs sound well and is very pleasant when walking.
Which carpet to choose - coating material
Natural material has always been considered the best option for flooring. It includes products in which the content of wool from 10% or more. But they have disadvantages that should be considered when choosing a carpet for a children's room.
The advantages of carpet of wool:
- good noise absorption;
- elasticity of the pile;
- warmth, softness and comfort;
Disadvantages of natural material:
- high cost;
- the possibility of ardent ticks and moths;
- small wear resistance;
- it is impossible to use in the room of a child suffering from allergies;
- the occurrence of mold with excess moisture.
Artificial carpet is available from the following synthetic fibers:
- nylon (polyamide) - soft durable material, which is easy to clean, holding the pile well and not fading;
- polyester - a fairly cheap hard coating with synthetic shine;
- polypropylene (Olefin) - the cheapest and widespread material in Russia, which “outlined its own”, and is gradually replaced by SUPIM and the thermalon - soft fibers similar to wool and having great wear resistance;
- polyacryla - only slightly inferior to nylon in quality.
Judging by the characteristics of synthetic materials, the optimal option in the children's room will be a nylon coating. Its disadvantages include accumulating static electricity and attracting dust and dirt.
Requirements for carpet in the children's room
- A dense loop or short pile - the product is easier to clean, and this is a very important factor for covering the baby in the room.
- Latex lining - allows to wash the coating and easier to survive the random “flood”.
- Softness - the child’s legs should be cozy and warm.
- Strength and wear resistance - children's games are very active.
- Environmental friendliness - the child’s health should not be dangerous.
- Beautiful, bright, but not poking coloring.
Decorative properties of carpet
It would seem that there is nothing easier - to choose the darker children's carpet, buy and save yourself from the troubles of cleaning spots. But dirt against such a background is noticeable as well as on a very bright coating. Much more practical in this regard is carpet with an ornament or pattern. Carpet must correspond to the designer solution of the room, that is, to be combined with its general color scheme. But there are several more nuances that are characteristic of the children's room:
- Pictures from cartoons and fairy tales on the coating will perfectly fit into the baby's room. Children's carpet with roads and cars will interest boys, and girls with flowers and dolls will like it.
- For older children, they choose a bright, but more realistic drawing - abstract figures, silhouettes of cars, etc.
- Teenagers will prefer to see in their room a more stringent geometric pattern.
Carpet tiles
One of the new options for the flooring is carpet tiles. It consists of squares that lay alternately until they fill the entire floor space. In fact, this is the same carpet, but divided into segments. They are laid out both in parts - a path or an island, and throughout the room.
Advantages of the coating:
- The possibility of replacing any part of the carpet. This is done very simple - just remove the square and put a new one instead.
