In times when plastic windows appeared, it was believed that they can be installed only in the apartment. But today, more and more people successfully put PVC windows in their country houses. Modern windows installed in a country wooden house are no different in their qualities from windows in city apartments. However, in the methodology of their installation there are some features, which we will talk about later.

Installation of plastic windows in a wooden house makes it possible to heat the house less often, because heat loss is reduced. Today, such designs are well performed by not only practical, but also decorative tasks. To order they can make windows of almost any shade and style. So, for example, for a house from a beam, you can perform plastic windows that look like wooden.
Selection of windows
The choice of windows for a country house must be approached very responsibly. In this case, many factors should be taken into account. In particular, you need to take into account their safety and efficiency of design.
First of all, we will touch on the issue of heat conservation. It has long been known that up to 70% heat loss occurs through the windows. Therefore, the main advantage, and at the same time, the minus of wood is that it is “living material”. Because of this, its form resistance is reduced. That is, wooden windows, like most natural materials, react to moisture and sun. These factors lead to their deformation, which is why the cracks appear, and, therefore, cold, drafts enters the house. Therefore, heating costs will be required. Plastic windows do not have such shortcomings that save heat much better. Therefore, when choosing, it is worth paying attention to double -glazed glass windows, which is considered very energy -efficient.
In addition, plastic windows in the old wooden house must comply with the basic safety requirements. Modern designs make it possible to use special accessories resistant to hacking, so you can no longer install gratings on plastic windows in a wooden house. Photos of examples of anti -zloma fittings are presented below.
Modern windows have quite thick front walls and a reinforced closed circuit, which gives them good strength and stability. In combination with special glasspacts, such designs are very reliable in terms of safety. Today you can make them almost any shape, texture and color. The profile can have the most different configuration. The profiles and seals themselves are painted not only in classic colors, but also in absolutely any shades.
Windows are products whose deficiencies can appear only after a long time, after they are installed. They often lose their gloss or fade, the leafs can shat, it blows from joints and gets into the house of condensate. To avoid the choice of such poor -quality windows, you should not save on their purchase. As a rule, more expensive designs are the highest quality. When selecting the window, it should be remembered that the basis of their durability is the strength of window plastic, sealing and stability of the structure.
When plastic windows are selected, it is also desirable to be more attentive to buying accessories. High -quality, as a rule, lasts longer. In addition, it is necessary to carefully study the phased installation process. The fact is that future breakdowns can occur precisely due to improper installation. In order to avoid skew when installing plastic windows in a wooden house, it is important to follow some simple rules. So, the owners of houses made of an array of wood should be known that such a building after construction for several years gives a shrinkage. This is the basis of the reason why before the installation of the window structure is given a recommendation to wait for some time.
How to put plastic windows in a wooden house
Before setting new windows, you need to remove the old ones and well prepare a place for installing new ones. The frames for which double -glazed windows will be mounted are imposed on strength. If they were established not so long ago and have no damage, then they usually meet these requirements. Therefore, new plastic windows can be placed on them. But measurements will still have to be made.
If the condition of the old window frames is still good, then they can still come in handy. For example, when building a greenhouse. Therefore, in order not to damage wooden frames, they need to be removed carefully. In this case, it is preliminarily recommended to remove the glass. If the frames are strong enough, then you can not remove the glass. When they are removed, you need to wipe the window box with a dry and clean cloth and remove the waste and garbage, which accumulated during the dismantling.
Initially, we will determine the procedure for the installation of the windowsill:
- It is important to install it in the first place, because it is the basis for the double -glazed window with the subsequent installation of plastic windows in a wooden house.
- It is advisable to check the horizontalness on the longitudinal and transverse plane by the construction level. In order to install the window sill firmly, it is necessary to make cuts up to 8 mm deep from each horizontal side of the window box.
- When installing the windowsill, it is necessary to regulate its evenness. For this, plastic plates are usually used. Less commonly used planks treated with an antiseptic.
- When the installation of the windowsill is completed, you need to measure its evenness again, but this time already using a more accurate tool - the construction level.
- To fasten the windowsill, you need to prepare self -tapping screws in advance. In the process of installation itself, it is necessary to diverse about 20 mm from the outer end. So that the screws do not damage the windowsill, under their hats should be put the suitable size of the washer. The places of their fastening will not be visible when the windows are finally installed.
Next, consider how to insert a plastic window in a wooden house.
Preparatory work
Initially, you need to install the handles in place. If there is a protective film on double -glazed windows, then it does not need to be removed, because it serves as a protection against mechanical damage that can occur during installation. So, the film is removed only partially, namely at the place of installation of the handle.
The pen itself is put as follows:
- set the handle in a horizontal position,
- fix the handle for a couple of bolts,
- transfer the handle to the lower position,
- twist the rest of the bolts.
The next stage of installation of the structure will be the marking and drilling of holes for installing fasteners. The window will be attached to 8 wood screws (4 in each rack). Their diameter should be at least 7 mm. If the profile and double -glazed windows are heavy, then the diameter of the fasteners and their number should be increased. The distance between them should be within 360-440 mm.
How to install plastic windows in a wooden house
Now it's time to independently install plastic windows in a wooden house:
- Control of the center must be done by measuring the distance between the edge of the window and the surface of the box. This should be done on both sides, while deviations should not be allowed.
- Now the window can be installed on a previously mounted window sill. If the smoothness of the window sill was carefully controlled, then there is no need to check the horizontal plane of the window.
- Now we will need a block of 10 mm wide. It will serve as a kind of support at the time of fastening the plastic structure to the box using self -tapping screws. This beam is inserted into the gap between the box and the window frame. Moreover, he should sit there tightly. Without it, the window can go aside, and this will negatively affect the work of the main mechanisms.
- When the bars are installed in place, and the window will be leveled, the double -glazed window is fixed using self -tapping screws.
- The fasteners between the box should be in the technological gap. This is more convenient to do if you fix the window from the bottom-up. The fastening of the indicated method allows us to ensure not only reliability, but also the so -called floating effect. The latter is necessary so that the mounting elements can freely “walk” with seasonal distortions of the bearing structures of the building. At the same time, the windows themselves will not be pumped. Therefore, the glass will be intact.
- As you can see, the installation of plastic windows in a wooden house is a rather scrupulous task. You should install double -glazed windows taking into account all measurements so that they do not interfere with the natural removal of condensate. Therefore, before the installation between the technological drain holes, the planks are installed. Only after that they can be carefully put in place. Carefully make sure that they do not cling to the racks tightly. Without free space around the glass during skew, they can crack.
- In the case of an too tight entrance and the absence of a gap between the racks and a double -glazed window of at least 5 mm, you should contact the company from which you ordered windows, demanding to eliminate this serious drawback. It is important that the necessary gap is checked before removing old windows.
- When the double -glazed window is successfully installed, it should be fixed using plastic stacks. This fastener is inserted into the groove of the frame with a profile spike. Through a light tapping, the graduate gradually delves into the groove until you hear a click. This sound will mean that the glazing is reliably established.
- It is worth saying that the gap from all sides of the frame to the casing should be approximately 20 mm. It is necessary to fill with mounting foam. Also, as a reserve for shrinkage of the house, the gap should be above the upper part of the casing to logs. It should be 60-90 mm. Thanks to this, the reserve when the logs dried in the log house will not put pressure on the windows.
- Before filling the gap with foam, you need to check the working capacity of the window. To do this, after inserting the wings, open the window, and see how it behaves. Open half and release. If at the same time the sash remains in place - it does not open, does not loosen and does not close further by itself, it means that everything was done correctly.
- Now the space between the box and the window must be carefully filled with mounting foam. Moreover, this is done on the outer and inside. After we wait until the foam hardens well. An extra mixture will need to be cut. This can be done even by a simple knife.
- When this is done, we can assume that the window is finally mounted. It remains to establish the necessary fittings and drainage, as well as the decoration with platbands.
External decoration is most often made with wooden panels or plastic siding. As for the slopes and window sills, any except plastic ones can be used. You must not forget to install castings.
People who live outside the city, if necessary, ventilate the rooms, open the windows completely. Therefore, in structures intended for installation in wooden houses, there are most often no valves for ventilation. In addition, windows with a rotary mechanism are often chosen for country houses. This is most likely due to the fact that the windows equipped with a rotary-oxide mechanism usually have a higher cost. In addition, they are inconvenient for good ventilation of the room.
During installation work, it is also recommended to put a mosquito net. You can still put shutters, but this is not recommended to do this if you do not plan to live in a country house for long. After all, the windows themselves are quite resistant to mechanical influences.
