Computer technology is widely used both for working purposes - for conducting documentation, calculating and calculating, and for watching films, listening to your favorite music, communication in social networks, etc. But here the problem arises: where and how to place a PC in a house or office in such a way that it takes a minimum of space and at the same time it is comfortable to use.

A special output will be a special table for a computer, which not only allows you to compactly and conveniently arrange a monitor, a system unit, a keyboard, office equipment, etc., but also serves as a desk, a storage of documents and other things.
Types of computer tables
Computer tables are classified according to several parameters, among which:
- Size. For example, a home and office table for a computer is completely different in size. In conditions of work, large models are quite appropriate, but in standard apartments in panel houses, modest computer tables look much more organic. But you should not think that the small size means insufficient functionality, because it is easily compensated by the presence of a large number of superships above the countertop, shelves and cabinets where the keyboard, printer, wheels, columns, the necessary documents, etc. usually place. The optimal width of the computer table tabletop is 60 cm, since the lower distance from the monitor to the eyes is dangerous for vision. But, if you plan to write at such a table, put A4 paper, put a fax, phone or other equipment, it is advisable to dwell on a model with a larger width.
- Count of the countertop. Linear and curly models are distinguished here. A linear computer table is characterized by a straight countertop, it has a special compartment for the system unit, a retractable shelf for the keyboard and a disc shelf. The figure in the figure model has a wavy shape without any corners, so such computer tables are completely safe and it is recommended to put them in the nursery.
- Design. Simple computer tables are equipped only with a shelf for the keyboard and a compartment for the system unit. Their analogues with the second tier and with an underestimated second tier allow the monitor, respectively, slightly higher or slightly below the level of the countertop. Tables for a computer with a low second tier, as scientists proved, reduce the load on the visual apparatus. Modular tables for a computer are also presented on the market, characterized by a large number of cabinets, shelves and cabinets both under the surface of the countertop and over it. Thus, the useful area of \u200b\u200bthe table increases several times.
- Movement method. According to this characteristic, the tables for the computer are divided into stationary and mobile. Stationary models look more impressive and presentable, have legs, but at the same time it is difficult to move them. In mobile tables, the legs are replaced with wheels, so if necessary, they are transported from one room to another in just a couple of minutes.
- Geometric shape. Distinguish between straight and corner tables for a computer. There are no restrictions on the place of installation of direct models, they look harmonious both at the wall and in the center of the room or office. But it is advisable to purchase a corner table for a computer in a limited area, since it occupies a minimum of space, placed in any free corner of the room. The advantage of such a table is additional free space at the expense of the side countertop, on which books, documents, discs, stationery, etc. are put.
A real discovery in the market segment associated with furniture for computers was the tables for the computer in which the motherboard and other elements of the system unit are mounted in the countertop. Of the advantages of such know-how, we note significant savings in the place and good cooling of parts of the PC, but at the same time, the components of the computer are less protected from mechanical damage.
Materials and tools for making a computer table
For a table for a computer, a photo of various models of which is given in this article, meets all the requirements of the owner, it is very important to decide on the material for its manufacture. Most often there are tables for PC from:
- natural wood, processed by a special composition and well dried. The positive aspects of this material are environmental friendliness and excellent strength, but at a price a table from a wooden massif will cost a whole state;
- DSP or MDF;
These are relatively cheap materials that have proven themselves in conditions of high humidity and unlikely to mechanical damage. In addition, a countertop from any wood slab is permissible to laminate or cover with veneer, which increases its service life. However, chipboard is considered far from harmless material due to the tendency to distinguish harmful phenol-formaldehyde resins during operation. As for MDF, there are certain doubts about its resistance to high temperatures.
- metal or hardened glass. Even the strongest blows are not afraid of such computer tables, but it is better not to put them in houses where there are animals or small children due to the risk of injuries. In other cases, they fit remarkably into the interior in the high-tech style, creating a special futuristic atmosphere;
- plastic. The plastic computer table is highlighted in a small weight, but at the same time it is not adapted to withstand heavy objects, so the load on its few shelves or compartments should be minimal.
Now consider what tools it will be needed for the manufacture of a computer table made of wood, chipboard or MDF. This is a grinding machine, a drill, a square, a roulette, a hacksaw, a pencil, a meter ruler, a screwdriver, a chisel. All this is usually available in the arsenal not even a very experienced home master.
Additional elements of the computer table
The computer table would not be different from the usual table, if not for its additional elements, just responsible for the user's comfort. Let's call the main of them:
- Shelf for the keyboard. Traditionally, in order to save space, it is made of a retractable. It is very convenient that it is 10-12 cm below the countertop, so the user will not get tired of the hands even with a long intensive printing. In addition, additional free space on the countertop itself is released. The shelf for the keyboard is stationary and autonomous. In the first case, it completely depends on the design of the table for the computer, that is, you cannot set the length of the shelf yourself. It is installed on the guides, which are attached to the side sides of the table. Autonomous shelf for the keyboard is the key to the mobility of this table element, which is easily removed in case of unnecessarily and is installed under almost any angle convenient for the user.
- System unit stand. This is a necessary part of the computer table that allows you to protect the “heart” of the computer from dust, moisture and blows. The most common are two constructions: on rollers and on adjustable furniture supports. The first option is more autonomous: if a regular PC has changed a laptop, a mobile stand is easily removed from a computer table. The advantage of the stand on furniture supports is the installation at any height convenient for the user and simplicity of design. It includes only the bottom and two lateral bulkheads, without intricate lines and rounded corners.
- Block with boxes. Roller boxes on roller or ball guides are a wonderful solution to the problem of storing little things, papers, stationery, etc. Thanks to them, all this will not gather dust on the surface of the table, but will be compactly laid out in various departments to always be at hand.
- Cabinet cabinet. It differs in greater capacity than a compartment with boxes, so it will turn a computer table into a full workplace. This is especially important for children who will not only play at the computer at such a table, but also draw and do homework. At the same time, textbooks, notebooks and other school supplies will always be at hand.
Methods for making a computer table
In order to understand how to make a computer table yourself does not need special knowledge in the field of construction: it is enough to have initial skills in handling tools and lumber. Consider how to make a computer table from MDF for a children's:
- We take the MDF plate with a thickness of at least 16 mm. We measure the parameters of the space into which the future computer table will have to fit: depth, length and width. In accordance with this, we make a detailed drawing and in accordance with it we cut a MDF sheet into parts of the desired size.
- When the “sides” of the right size are ready, we screw the guides to them, to which the internal shelves and drawers will be attached.
- We collect side modules with the help of doughs, for greater strength of the structure, adding glue in the nests.
- For the back wall, it is better to use not traditional fiberboard, but a MDF sheet, the thickness of which is 10 mm. After that, we collect all the walls into a single whole with the help of self -tapping screws with secret heads.
- We cut out rectangular elements for drawers of the required length also from MDF, 10 mm thick and check the geometry of the sides using a square. Then we insert the dugs into the nests, previously greased with glue, and fasten the box with clamps.
- On the lateral surfaces of the drawers, we glue the chomic tape, processing it with a hot iron. Without this edge, during the operation of the computer, bubbles are overheated during the computer. After that, trim the edge along the edge with a sharp knife. So that the surface of the plate remains intact, we put a sheet of thin cardboard under the edge.
- To the front and back sections of the shelves, we glue the triggers made of wood so that the shelves move freely along the guides. For this, the width of the strips for the front edge should be 40 mm, and for the back edge - 16 mm.
- On the lower surface of the countertop, we mark the places where the supporting cabins will be attached, and drill the dull nests for doughs. Here you can not do without the use of a drilling depth limiter, otherwise the holes with a high degree of probability will turn out to be through.
- We put the cabinets on the inverted countertop and fasten them with each other by 2 stiffeners by means of screws.
- We turn the table, screw the loops and hang the door to the left side module. We insert the box and retractable shelves into place.
- The superstructure of the shelves, which is installed on the table, is attached using screeds to make it easier to dismantle if necessary.
- We attach the stand for the monitor to the countertop using round wooden bars using doughs and glue.
- We apply a primer on a finished computer table, and then paint in any color you like.
If there is little space in the room, and the usual shelf for the system unit makes access to the computer, it is very convenient to mount the processor directly into the table. For this, when assembling it, a special box is provided, which is made from the fiberboard, a glued form, which has an outlet on open ends. To avoid the risk of fire, the box from the inside is treated with refractory impregnation. The desired thickness of the DVP layer is 17 mm, the sides of the box are fastened with screws with a size of 4x60 mm with a secret head. The rigidity of the product provides rear panels drowned by 10 cm in such a way that special niches for cable and UPS are obtained.
Computer table in the interior
If in the office interior the computer table always looks organic, then its placement in the domestic living room requires some design talent so that such furniture does not produce a too strict, “clerical” look. So, the combination of a table with a small lamp, beautiful paintings and light chairs covered with light fabric and with an elegant back allows you to mask such furniture to a regular dining or desk. The PC table, which is a continuation of the rack or wall, also looks harmonious.
If you give a lot of its shelves and cabinets an unusual shape or decorate them with patterns applied by paint or cut on wood, this piece of furniture will be in any home interior.
