Classification

Gypsum cardboard is a plate that has a gypsum core framed on both sides by sheets of facing cardboard.

The gypsum base of the GCL includes different additives that endow the resulting material with certain useful properties. According to the type and purpose of additives present in the starting raw materials, it is customary to divide drywall into the following categories:

  1. GKL is the most ordinary drywall, without additives at all. Its purpose is the sheathing of wall structures and ceilings in buildings with acceptable temperature values \u200b\u200band a low indicator of moisture in the air.
  2. GCL - gypsum cardboard with reinforcing inclusions. This type of material is created for the construction of structures in places where special attention is paid to the observance of fire safety.

The reasons for which it is worth choosing a drywall

  1. Small weight. This quality greatly facilitates the installation process and avoids excessive load on the load -bearing walls.

  3. Plasticity with moisture. This feature of drywall allows you to simulate parts of a unique non -standard shape of various complexity. To achieve this effect, the sheet is pierced with a needle roller and wetted with water. In this state, it is easy to build any element with radial lines from it. In addition, after drying, the material restores all the “necessary” properties. It was this fact that became one of the most good reasons for such a widespread use of drywall in construction. After all, neither stone, nor ceramic, nor wooden products are modeled so easily.
  4. Resistance to fires. Gypsum, which is a basic component, is not at all a fuel.
  5. Simplicity of installation. The assembly of drywall forms does not require any special devices.

The weaknesses of drywall
