For owners of summer cottages in the design of the territory, every detail is important. The point is that today there are quite a lot of design variations, and a considerable part of which is inexpensive ways to make the site attractive.

If we talk directly about the paths, which, of course, are the most important part of the territory, we can safely talk about the existence of a number of inexpensive decisions. Often, the owners who have a large budget for construction, repair and the like, make a choice in favor of paving stones, concrete slabs, as well as some other types of coatings. All of them are of high quality, including excellent strength, durability and attractive appearance.

It is obvious that for the owners who want to save on the design of the site, or just deposit money for some other work, decide to use improvised means to create tracks. The so -called garden paths have become the subject of creativity for many owners. Some people study the options available on the Internet and create creative surfaces, and some decide to use on their own so that the final result is more original and possibly attractive.

In this material, we will consider the main features of the creation of garden paths based on improvised materials. We also analyze the main difficulties and other details associated with the use of certain resources.

The main features of garden paths

It is worth noting the fact that the creation of garden paths is a kind of direction in creativity, no matter how funny it may sound. At the very beginning, we said that on the Internet you can find a lot of options for designing garden paths, but it is even difficult to imagine how many such variations exist. You can find dozens of blogs and channels on video services, where people share their work in this direction.

The conclusions from the foregoing can be made any, however, for people who want to make beautiful garden paths, this is definitely a plus. The point is that on the World Wide We can find photos, videos and entire articles on how to better equip the site so that the garden paths are attractive and practical.

A huge advantage of creating original garden paths is savings. Often, people who make a decision to conduct something similar save a lot of money, unlike those owners who use tiles, paving stones or other construction resources.

Accordingly, to create garden paths, any improvised materials can be used. However, there should be many. A distinguishable example is plastic lids from ordinary bottles of soda or beer. On their basis, a colossal number of garden paths was created, and a considerable part of them are truly interesting solutions that have no analogues. Of course, many say that creating paths from covers is funny, because it looks funny, and there is no reliability in such a coating. This is partly the right opinion, but many options for such paths are truly attractive. Also, do not forget that the garden paths themselves are quite miniature, so it makes no sense to present any serious requirements for such objects. To create large roads or even platforms from caps or road tires is extremely unsuccessful solutions, so it makes sense to understand about the scale of work. Often, the width of the garden path is limited to 50 cm.

Preliminary actions

The owners who decided to transform the site by creating a beautiful garden path often ignore many details that should definitely pay attention to.

  • The size of the site. In the event that the owners have a large area of \u200b\u200bthe private territory, this can create some problems with the arrangement of small garden paths. The thing is that such paths will simply look ugly. It is advisable to create large paths that will fit the best in existing territory. However, in some situations you can take a closer look at the creation of small paths around the perimeter of the site. It is worth paying attention to the fact that this decision should be well combined with existing options for arranging the territory.
  • Preparatory work. Surely the most important thing about the creation of garden paths is general preparation. It is necessary to determine in advance what form the paths will be, and what dimensions they will have. After that, a peculiar marking follows. For her, you can use any improvised materials, including a thread that will pass along the perimeter of the future path. In this case, it will be possible to understand where the future garden path can create problems. The bottom line is that at first glance there should be no problems, but in reality the future path can go to those places that must either be empty or already busy. Accordingly, even before the creation of the paths, we will understand what part of the territory we are dealing with.
  • Consumables. As you know, when creating garden paths, improvised materials are often used. Often, these very artificial paths can be based on quite specific materials or resources, which, perhaps, the hosts are not as many as they would like. Thus, you need to be sure that the necessary materials are present in the required volumes. To do this, you can conduct elementary calculations. In the end, we will know exactly what to do directly during the laying of the material, and in which case to use some other resources, possibly purchased.
  • The complexity of work. It should be borne in mind that creating a garden path, for example, on the basis of covers, is a really complicated process that will be very difficult for many people. Directly the difficulty lies in the fact that laying each individual small element is very tiring and simply boring. Accordingly, in order to at least somehow speed up the process, and get the final result faster, as many people as possible should be attracted. In this situation, the work should go quickly and without any problems. Depending on the material or conditions, you can also speed up the process in some way, and at the same time get a qualitative result.

Next, we will consider the most common options for creating garden paths.

Creating a track from covers

As we mentioned earlier, paths from covers are the most common option. Moreover, in terms of creative this basis there are no equal, as the options for creating decorative paths can be an infinite amount.

  • If we talk about the practicality of this idea, then such paths are not always convenient or durable. The thing is that gradually, depending on the soil, the lids can go deeper, and, ultimately, equal to the ground. To avoid this, you need to at least slightly compact the soil. Obviously, over time, the covers will lose their initial attractiveness, but periodic care sometimes allows you to extend the service life of such a basis.
  • The necessary volumes of covers are a sharp question. Earlier, we said that often the supplies necessary to create a garden path need a large number. In this case, it all comes down to the fact that at least several thousand covers are needed to create a full -fledged path. Not everyone has so many plastic elements of bottles. Again, in such a situation, you often have to look for a way out, which, for example, can be the use of third -party materials. For example, it can be a tile or brick.
  • If we talk about the decorative component, then often the owners who want to create an attractive surface combine various colors of the covers. You can create various patterns, lines and much more. Ultimately, the paths can be really bright and beautiful. At the same time, these decorative paths often become a kind of example of bad taste. We are talking about fairly controversial options that are not combined with the general style of the site.

Using bat tiles

At many construction sites and other facilities, you can find construction garbage, which remains after the dismantling of certain structures. Thus, a broken tile, often found in the above conditions, can become an excellent component for creating garden paths.

A tremendous number of options for such paths are available on the Internet, and, most importantly, often such paths for a private territory can be more attractive than paths created on the basis of full -fledged tiles or paving stones.

Most often, the owners include their creativity, creating entire drawings, compositions, or simply combinations of the location of similar elements on the basis of broken material.

  • Surely the most important thing about this option for creating tiles is the general reliability of the paths. Often they are created on the basis of cement, so they are in no way inferior to full paths that are created using certain technologies.
  • If we talk directly about the process of laying a bat tile, then first creates the base in the form of a small layer of cement. Elements of tiles are immersed in this very cement. Ultimately, tiles and cement layer should be on the same level. The cement will gain strength within a week, and until the moment when the binder material does not become durable, the path is strictly not recommended.
  • In the event that cement and other components of the paths are of high quality, the surface becomes almost invulnerable to external influences. Only asphalt laid down on modern technologies will be more reliable.

The threat to such a “capital” path can be the roots of trees or soil deformation. In this case, it is impossible to exclude the occurrence of cracks and other troubles.

Creating tracks from car tires

Surely each motorist has many tires that are already unsuitable for further use. Fortunately, they can be used in various fields, and first of all it is worth paying attention to their strength. It is extremely difficult to damage tires, so they are suitable for creating garden paths.

  • The weak side of this solution is the terrible appearance of the tires, which can make a beautiful and bright area with something gloomy or official. Despite this, if the owners do not require any beauty or creativity, this is a good option, especially if the path should be small and narrow.
  • Low complexity when creating such paths is a definite plus. It is enough to cut the tires and lay on the ground. Most often, 2 or 3 lines of tires are used, which creates a kind of path. All these works should take no more than an hour.
  • If there is a need to create some kind of decorative “highlight”, you can arouse a paint that is applied to tires. It is best to use bright colors that are in the best way for a cozy site. In addition, you can lay some material under tires that can slightly soften the “rudeness” of the rubber surface.

Boat

Each owner should have many wood materials that can be used to create a garden path. First of all, we are talking about the fact that the boards necessary to create a path should (preferably) have approximately the same dimensions, and it can be even completely small. Thus, the boards can simply be placed in the soil, but it is advisable to use a small gravel, and on its basis create a woody path.

  • It is worth noting that the wood itself, in its original processed form, will very quickly become unusable in the open air. It's all about precipitation and other external influences, therefore it is advisable to process the planks with fuel oil, which creates ideal conditions for the durable use of such paths. It is interesting that the appearance of the boards treated with fuel oil becomes quite attractive.
  • In the event that crushed stone is present between the planks, the composition becomes truly attractive. If you take as a basis photographs available on the network, then such a solution should fit the best landscape of the site in the best way.

I would like to note right there that instead of boards you can use the so -called sawing. These are wood elements that often have a round shape. These same saws can be deepened directly into the ground. Accordingly, such a path will be excited by grass, but in general, this will only positively affect the appearance of the path and the site. In the decorative plan, such a garden path will also be attractive because of the rings available on the wood. Much depends on the chosen wood.

Crushed stone is the basis of the garden path

First of all, it is worth keeping in mind that large stone is unlikely to be used as a basis for a garden track, since this natural material has a rather diverse shape, not in the best way suitable for a path or road.

If we talk about gravel, then this is a good option, especially if the garden path in width will be 1 m or even more.

The essence of this idea is that along the perimeter of the future path we put bricks, tiles or other large elements that will become a kind of fence for the path. This way, then laying the gravel begins, and the layer of this material in level should correspond to the height of the above elements around the perimeter. If you carry out a thorough seal of crushed stone, you get an excellent surface for constant use. Walking a small fraction of crushed stone will not interfere, especially if the above seal is held in conscience.

The positive side of this decision is general durability. Crushed stone is not afraid of precipitation, low temperatures and other external influences. Perhaps such a path is not the best solution for a particular site that already has a certain design style, but there are no significant remarks here.

Plastic garden paths

To date, the farm uses a lot of plastic supplies, which over time, unfortunately, lose their original appearance. Despite this, as a basis for small garden paths, this is an excellent option that can give odds to many other creative solutions.

As a basis, take plastic rugs that are used in bathrooms, or in front of the entrance doors to the house. It is worth noting that there are a tremendous number of options for rugs on sale, and for sure the owners have at least several unnecessary units of these products.

Accordingly, such rugs can be safely laid on top of the grass, or immediately on the ground. In the event that there are a considerable amount of them, then the garden path will turn out excellent, especially given the fact that no problems should happen under the influence of precipitation and other external influences.

Large plastic mats can be cut into 2 or more parts, which will ultimately positively affect the general situation associated with the creation of the path.

Using broken glass

If we talk about glass bottles that accumulate in the house, they can also be a good resource for creating a garden path. The essence of this idea is that the bottles can be beaten a little so that parts of the glass are approximately the same size. Ultimately, the glass can be placed based on a cement mixture.

  • To begin with, a cement layer of small thickness is created (about the same as in the case of a bat tile). Previously, it is worth making sure that the soil on the basis of which the path will be created should be dense and reliable so that there are no problems with cracks and deformations of the cement layer later.
  • After the cement gained a little strength, you can lay broken glass. All parts of broken bottles should not be taken, as some may be with a too strange shape that is not suitable for creating the path. It is advisable to choose even glass with the largest area.
  • Each glass is slightly pressed into the cement, while it is worthwhile to control the overall horizontality of the garden path so that walking on it does not create any problems.

You can combine various color solutions, creating peculiar patterns, lines and other elements. Thus, some freedom for people who want to realize design ideas is definitely present. At the same time, it is worth paying attention to the fact that parts of the glass cannot injure the feet of a person, since you can easily not notice the sharp edges of the glass parts.

Brick is based

Obviously, the brick is a universal material for many building events. If we talk about the use of bricks to create a garden path, the situation is in such a way that, based on this material, you can easily make a fairly narrow path, which will become a decoration of the site.

To do this, you need to deepen the brick into the ground, while building material should rush slightly above the ground. You can also create several rows of bricks so that the garden path is wider and, in turn, convenient for movement.

Red brick is the best option for the implementation of one or another design solution, while too damaged the material is better not to use at all.
