DIY banquet

A wooden banquet is a stylish and practical accessory for any room. It is quite spacious, so it can be used to store the necessary things. Most often, banquets are installed in the hallway, where they perform not only the function of the chest of drawers, but also serve as a comfortable sitting place. This interior item due to the simplicity of its design is quite possible to do it yourself. For this, a lot of time and effort will not be spent. With your own hands, such a banquet is performed easy and pretty quickly. This will require the presence of some materials:

1. Foam rubber 5-6 cm thick.
2. A thick skein of cotton wool.
3. A sheet of plywood 1.5 cm thick.
4. Aerosol glue.
5. Fabric for lining.
6. Building Stapler (preferably electric).
7. Grinding machine.
8. Zabble knife, hammer, screwdriver.
9. Primer, paint.

Stages of work:

• In order to modernize the old coffee table and turn it into a new banquet, you should initially unscrew the fixing screws, and remove the upper cover from it. This should be done as shown in the photo.

• Now we move on to the processing of the upper part of the future banquet. To do this, take a sheet of plywood 1.5 cm thick and attach a foam plate with a thickness of 5-6 cm to it. The dimensions of the sheet of foams should be 1-2 cm more than that of plywood. You can cut off pieces of material of the desired size using a jagged knife.
• We cut a wool layer. It should be made 5-6 cm longer and wider than the foam layer. This is necessary so that the remaining edges of the material to wrap the countertop.
• Cut the sheathing fabric. The dimensions of the material should be 5-6 cm larger so that it is possible to wrap the edges of a sheet of plywood and foam.
• We fasten all layers of the upper part of the banquet among themselves. Initially, plywood is coming, we place foam rubber on it, then cotton wool. Next, everything is wrapped in with a lining fabric. All parts are fastened with each other using aerosol glue. Then let the layers of the material dry for a while.

• Larging fabric, all parts of the structure should be tightened quite tightly. Then we fix the material on the back of the countertop using construction brackets. Particularly careful should be when processing the angles of the structure. To make them flat and straight to fix the fabric, use 2-3 staples for each angle.
• Now we move on to the processing of the lower part of the bedside banquet. To do this, thoroughly grind the old coffee table without a countertop. To do this, use a manually grinding machine with a grain of 120 and a sheet of sandpaper. Both legs and side surfaces of the structure are thoroughly.
• Next, the lower part of the polished frame should be primed. This will require any water -based primer. Then we give the mixture to dry well.
• Then we paint the frame. You can use aerosol paint of any color. That the coating was one-color and uniform, apply paint in 2-3 layers. That's all, the Board for the bedroom is ready.

How to make a banquet from improvised materials

To do this, we need:

1. Brushes of plywood for building the lower part of the structure-6-8 pcs.
2. A sheet of plywood (MDF) 6-7 cm thick.

Stages of work:

• Cut the MDF sheet to the banquet size you need (its upper part). Next, with a pencil, we mark the places where the screws will be placed (usually 8-10 marks are required). After that, by the marking made, drill the hole with the drill. We fix the bar with a cement contact on top.
• On top of the MDF sheet, we fix the foam layer. The material can be bought in any business or construction store. We lay a wool layer on top (as described in the first method of assembling a banquet). We fix it to the base using a furniture stapler. Gently cut off excess.
• On a layer of cotton wool, we apply a sheathing fabric. If there is a drawing on it, then before cutting the material, check that it is exactly in the middle. We fix the fabric with brackets from the back.
• We carefully pull the fabric in the corners and fix it with 3-4 brackets.

• You can decorate the upper part of the banquet using ordinary buttons, which can be bought at any household. It is also allowed to use ordinary buttons for this. So, initially we denote 7 points where buttons (buttons) will be located. Next, wrapping the buttons (or buttons) with a cloth, sew them to the upholstery. We do it as shown in the photo. In order for the carriage screed to look more attractive, thoroughly align with your fingers each fold of the material and iron it with an iron.

• Now we collect the lower part of the banquet for the living room. To do this, we need several bars: 6 pieces 2x2 40 cm high (for legs), 6 pieces 2x2 (for jumpers). Grind, primer and paint the available boards. Next, we install in the desired places the bars of the structure of the structure and fasten them with a jumper with each other. 1. Board or furniture shield with a thickness of 20-26 mm. (If the board is used, then preliminary processing of the material, grinding, coating with protective compounds will be required).

5. Screws, self -tapping screws (size 3 cm).

Stages of work:

1. The size of the banquet can be absolutely any. Based on this, the dimensions of building materials (boards, furniture shield, wooden bars) can be adjusted. Therefore, having selected a suitable place, to place a banquet, take its measurements and schematically display the drawing of the future structure.
2. The banquet will consist of several cubes, each of which has two side walls, a lid, a bottom and back wall. Due to the fact that there will be no front walls in the design, the obtained niches can be used as cells for storing things (clothes, sleeping accessories, etc.).
3. We mark the board (furniture shield) according to the available drawing. Now we cut out the appropriate parts of the structure. This will require an electrician. Keep in mind that the upper lids of the banquet will be fixed on top of the side walls, and the bottom and back panel will be located at the very bottom of the structure. If the product consists of 3 cubic meters, then 6 parts will be required to assemble the side walls, as well as 3 parts for the bottom and rear panels. It is worth saying that according to a similar scheme, a banquet with a back is also made.
4. After all the necessary details are cut, they should be twisted well. This will require a manual grinding machine and sandpaper.
5. Next, connect the obtained parts of the structure with furniture pins. To do this, initially drill holes in the ends of the desired size.
6. After assembling the design, we process the joints of the joints with carpentry glue. In order to ensure a more reliable fixation of the structure, you can fix it with self -tapping screws on the ends. Now we have obtained 3 cubes collected, which will be a banquet frame. We collect the obtained boxes together. For fastening, you can use screws, self -tapping screws.
7. We process the structure with protective compounds, primer and cover with paint. We give time to dry the frame.
8. Next, go to the manufacture of the upper part of the product. The seat for the seat can be covered with an old mattress cut in size. In addition, for this purpose, you can use a foam layer. For the selected filler, you need to sew a protective cover.
9. After that, fasten all parts of the product into a single design. To do this, you can use building brackets. Now our banquet is ready for use.
